Tensioner Slat Kits provide adjustable support and strength to existing bed slats. Ideal for those wanting firmer back and hip support.
Each Slat Tensioner Support Kit includes 5 tension slats and 10 tension adjusters. A tensioner support slat is fastened beneath a new or existing bed slat by 2 plastic tensioner sliders. Sliding the plastic tensioners further apart creates firmer support. This provides additional body support in selected slat rows, typically beneath the shoulders and hip areas (e.g., 2 under the shoulder and 3 under the hip area) or to alternate slat rows across the entire slat bed.
Depending on your slat holder width, select from 38mm or 53mm widths. The plastic tension adjusters can accommodate 2 slats with a combined thickness of 14mm to 17mm. All of our 53mm and 38mm slats work with this kit.
The 700 mm length tensioner slat is suitable for all bed frame sizes up to Super King and California Queen. Customers can easily trim tensioner slats to match their required length.

- Select 5 slat positions where you require support. Typically beneath the shoulders and hip areas (e.g., 2 under the shoulder and 3 under the hip area). Alternatively, you can alternate slat rows from head to toe down the entire slat bed.
- If you would like to add support to both sides of your double, queen, king or super king bed, you will require 2 slat tensioner kits.
- Combine a 6mm thick tensioner slat with an 8mm, 9mm, 10mm or 11mm bed slat by threading each end of the combined slats into the throat gaps of the adjustable tensioner sliders so that you have two plastic sliders per slat combination.
- Now push the ends of your main slat only, into your slat holders.
- If you have a queen or double size bed, you may need to cut the tensioner slats down to approximately 600mm long.
- Sliding the plastic tensioners further apart creates firmer support. Slide the tensioners closer to soften the support.
