Recliner Chair Footrest Cable & Handle Replacement Instructions:

You Will Need: - Drill (a long drill bit works best)
- Needle-nose pliers
- 2 screws
Installation Instructions 1. Remove the two screws securing the old handle. One screw is located beneath the handle flange, and the other is on the underside of the handle. 2. Carefully tip the chair onto its back. 3. Release the footrest so it is in the open position. 4. Using the needle-nose pliers, Using needle-nose pliers, unhook the metal Z-fitting from the actuator lever. The old cable and handle can now be pulled out through the side of the chair. 5. Install the new cable by following the same path as the old one. Insert the new handle into the opening on the side of the recliner and feed the cable down through the side of the chair. 6. Secure the new handle using the two screws. 7. From underneath the chair, press the plastic side-snap retaining clip firmly into position on the recliner frame. 8. Attach the metal Z-fitting to one of the holes in the actuator. Some actuators have multiple holes available. Choosing a hole closer to the pivot point generally requires less handle travel to release the footrest, while a hole further away may require a longer pull. Select the hole that provides your preferred handle sensitivity. 9. Test the handle several times to ensure the cable operates smoothly and the footrest opens and closes correctly before returning the recliner to its normal position.
