How much flock is required to stuff a cushion, bolster or pouffe?
It's tricky to estimate how much flock you'll need, as the weight varies within batches depending on the source textiles from which it is shredded.
The dimensions of the item being stuffed will also affect the weight needed, as will how densely you want the flock packed, i.e., firmer or softer.
As a guide, approximately +/- 2.5kg should do a normal size bolster (70x15x15cm)
As a guide, approximately +/- 15kg should do a normal-sized cushion or pouffe (70x70x20cm)
The only practical way is to work it out on a trial-and-error basis. Always order more than the calculation.
As a rough rule of thumb, a ratio of 160kg per 1m3 of compressed flock applies.
10kg is approximately 60cm (height of bale) x 83cm (depth of bale) x 13cm (1/10th of a bale width)
